Position: Teacher of Drama

Wayman Education is looking for a creative Teacher of Drama to join a secondary school in Derby. This opportunity would suit a teacher who can build pupils' confidence, develop performance skills and make practical learning accessible to a range of abilities.

The School

The school recognises the value of creative subjects in developing communication, collaboration and self-expression.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver practical and theoretical Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Teach performance techniques, character development, improvisation and script work.

  • Support pupils in developing confidence, teamwork and critical evaluation.

  • Prepare pupils for relevant assessments and examinations where applicable.

  • Contribute to performances, productions or extracurricular activities where required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS and a relevant Drama or Performing Arts teaching qualification.

  • Has experience delivering Drama lessons in a school or comparable educational setting.

  • Can organise practical activities while maintaining safe, positive behaviour.

  • Is confident supporting pupils with different levels of experience.

  • Brings creativity, enthusiasm and strong communication skills.

Salary

MPS/UPS, dependent on experience and the school's pay arrangements.
