Position: Teacher of Religious Education
Location: Leicester, Leicestershire

Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary/Hours: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience | Full-time

Wayman Education is seeking a thoughtful and engaging Teacher of Religious Education for an inclusive secondary school in Leicester. The role would suit a teacher who can encourage respectful discussion, develop pupils' understanding of different beliefs and worldviews, and support strong written and analytical skills.

The School

The school seeks to create a respectful environment where pupils are encouraged to ask questions, consider different perspectives and engage positively with challenging ideas.

The Role

  • Deliver RE lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Teach religious beliefs, practices, ethical issues and diverse worldviews in line with the curriculum.

  • Develop pupils' evaluation, discussion and extended-writing skills.

  • Assess learning and adapt lessons to meet different educational needs.

  • Establish a respectful classroom environment that encourages thoughtful debate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS and a relevant RE, RS, Theology or related teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and effective teaching skills.

  • Can facilitate balanced, age-appropriate discussions on sensitive topics.

  • Demonstrates inclusive practice, clear communication and positive behaviour management.

  • Is committed to safeguarding and pupil development.

Salary

MPS/UPS, dependent on experience and the school's pay arrangements.
