About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging DT lessons that combine creative design with practical application. You will help students develop their understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and design principles while encouraging them to solve problems and turn ideas into finished products.

Responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality Design and Technology lessons.

• Teaching design concepts, material properties and practical manufacturing techniques.

• Organising practical activities and ensuring safe use of tools and equipment.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.

• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and high expectations.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and improve curriculum delivery.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.

• Experience or confidence delivering practical lessons and managing workshop safety.

• Effective classroom management and communication skills.

• The ability to encourage creativity, independent thinking and problem-solving.

• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student achievement.

Experienced DT Teachers and Early Career Teachers with the relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
