An established secondary school in Flitwick is looking for an enthusiastic Geography Teacher to provide maternity cover as soon as possible. The school is keen to appoint someone who can inspire students to understand the world around them, explore global challenges and develop strong geographical enquiry skills.

The Role

  • Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons covering physical geography, human geography and environmental issues.

  • Develop students' map-reading, data interpretation and analytical skills.

  • Monitor progress and provide clear feedback to support improvement.

  • Contribute to fieldwork preparation and departmental planning where appropriate.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and effective lesson-planning skills.

  • Can make geographical concepts accessible and engaging.

  • Builds positive relationships and promotes independent thinking.

  • Can begin at short notice and contribute positively to the department.
