About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher to join a school in Peterborough. This opportunity would suit a teacher who is passionate about the subject and enjoys encouraging students to question assumptions, evaluate evidence and develop a deeper understanding of human behaviour and mental processes.
The successful applicant will plan and deliver engaging lessons that introduce students to key psychological concepts, research methods, theoretical perspectives and practical applications. You will help learners develop analytical skills, understand how psychological research is conducted and evaluate evidence in a balanced and critical way.
You will be expected to prepare well-structured lessons, use a range of teaching strategies and provide appropriate support and challenge to students with differing levels of confidence and ability. Clear explanations, relevant examples and opportunities for discussion will be important in helping students connect theoretical concepts with real-life situations.
The role will also involve assessment, monitoring student progress, providing feedback and identifying areas where further intervention may be beneficial. You will work with colleagues to support curriculum development, maintain consistent standards and ensure that students are well prepared for assessments.
The precise key stages and examination specifications will depend on the school's curriculum requirements. Applicants should therefore be able to demonstrate relevant subject expertise and a willingness to contribute to the department's priorities.
