Fantastic opportunity to lead and develop special educational needs provision
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families, external professionals and senior leaders

About the Role
Our client is looking to appoint a knowledgeable, committed and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to strengthen provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEND professional who is passionate about inclusion, improving educational outcomes and ensuring that all students can access a meaningful and ambitious curriculum.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating SEND provision across the school, working closely with teachers and support staff to identify students' needs and ensure appropriate strategies are implemented. You will contribute to the assessment, planning, monitoring and review of individual support arrangements, ensuring that students receive provision that reflects their specific learning profiles and personal circumstances.
You will play a central role in maintaining effective communication between the school, parents and carers, educational psychologists, local authority professionals and other external agencies. Building constructive relationships will be essential, particularly when coordinating support plans, discussing progress and helping families understand the provision available to their children.
The role will also involve advising colleagues on inclusive teaching approaches, supporting the development of classroom strategies and helping staff adapt learning activities to meet a range of needs. Candidates should be confident managing SEND information, coordinating reviews, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the school's wider improvement priorities.
This position would suit an established SENCo or an experienced SEND practitioner with the relevant qualifications, experience and readiness to take on a coordination or leadership role.
