About the Role
Our client is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join a secondary school in Brentwood from January. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys making Mathematics accessible, challenging pupils to think logically and helping students develop the confidence to solve increasingly complex problems.
The successful candidate will deliver Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils as they develop fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills. You will be expected to explain mathematical concepts clearly, plan structured learning activities and help students understand how different areas of Mathematics connect.
The school is looking for a teacher who can identify misconceptions early and use effective questioning, modelling and practice to improve understanding. Lessons should provide opportunities for pupils to develop independent working habits while receiving appropriate guidance and support. Differentiation will be important in ensuring that pupils who find Mathematics challenging can build secure foundations, while higher-attaining students are encouraged to extend their reasoning and tackle more demanding tasks.
The successful applicant will also support GCSE examination preparation through regular assessment, focused revision and the development of effective examination techniques. You will monitor progress carefully, provide constructive feedback and work with colleagues to identify strategies that improve outcomes.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a department that values clear explanations, consistent teaching and a positive approach to learning. Applications are welcome from teachers at different stages of their careers who can demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to student achievement.
