Wayman Education is seeking an engaging Teacher of English to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Telford. This role would suit a teacher who can inspire a love of literature, strengthen students' written communication and help learners build the skills needed for success at GCSE and beyond.

The school is focused on delivering a broad, challenging curriculum within a supportive learning environment. It encourages staff to share good practice, maintain high expectations and help every student make meaningful progress.

The Role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

  • Plan engaging lessons that develop reading comprehension, writing and analysis.

  • Support students with examination preparation and revision strategies.

  • Use assessment to identify learning gaps and improve outcomes.

  • Contribute to departmental collaboration and whole-school literacy initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong English subject knowledge and secondary teaching experience.

  • Can adapt teaching to support students of differing abilities.

  • Demonstrates clear communication and effective behaviour management.

  • Is passionate about literacy, literature and student achievement.

Salary

MPS/UPS, depending on experience.
