A primary academy in Watford is seeking a Year 5 Teacher to join its upper Key Stage 2 team. The school is looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can deliver challenging lessons, develop pupils’ independence and prepare them for the transition into Year 6.

The Role

  • Lead a Year 5 class and deliver the full primary curriculum.

  • Develop pupils’ reading, extended writing and mathematical reasoning.

  • Plan activities that promote critical thinking and independent learning.

  • Assess attainment and provide feedback that supports progress.

  • Contribute to year-group planning and wider school initiatives.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has a strong understanding of Key Stage 2 expectations.

  • Can deliver well-structured lessons with appropriate challenge.

  • Maintains high standards of behaviour and classroom organisation.

  • Works collaboratively with colleagues and families.
