Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

A two-form entry primary school in Stevenage is seeking a Year 4 Teacher to provide maternity cover. The school needs a confident practitioner who can maintain continuity of learning, deliver engaging lessons and support pupils as they develop greater independence in Key Stage 2.

The Role

  • Take responsibility for a Year 4 class.

  • Plan and deliver lessons across the primary curriculum.

  • Strengthen reading comprehension, writing and mathematical reasoning.

  • Assess pupils’ progress and adapt teaching accordingly.

  • Work with the parallel class teacher and support staff to maintain consistent expectations.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has experience teaching primary-aged pupils.

  • Can manage classroom routines and promote positive behaviour.

  • Uses differentiation and assessment to meet individual needs.

  • Is available for an immediate start.
