A primary school in Braintree is seeking an experienced or ambitious Year 6 Teacher to support pupils through their final year of primary education. The successful applicant will combine effective preparation for end-of-Key-Stage-2 assessments with a broad curriculum and strong pastoral support.

The Role

• Lead a Year 6 class and deliver the full primary curriculum.

• Plan targeted teaching in reading, writing and mathematics.

• Use assessment information to identify gaps and monitor progress.

• Develop pupils’ independence, resilience and readiness for secondary school.

• Communicate effectively with parents and contribute to transition arrangements.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Understands upper Key Stage 2 curriculum requirements.

• Can use assessment data to inform targeted teaching.

• Maintains high expectations while supporting pupils’ wellbeing.

• Works effectively with colleagues, support staff and families.
