Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

A secondary school in Cambridge is seeking a creative Drama Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful applicant will deliver practical and written lessons, support performance development and maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere within the department.

The Role

  • Teach Drama across KS3–KS4.

  • Plan practical activities covering devising, performance and evaluation.

  • Support GCSE students with practical assessments and written preparation.

  • Manage rehearsal activities and classroom resources effectively.

  • Track progress and provide feedback on performance skills.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical Drama.

  • Can manage practical lessons safely and effectively.

  • Encourages creativity, teamwork and confident participation.

  • Can take up the maternity-cover position from January 2027.

The school values creative learning and opportunities for pupils to develop confidence through performance. The successful teacher will work with colleagues to maintain continuity of learning throughout the cover period.
