Salary: Pro-rata MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

A secondary school in Newmarket is seeking an English Teacher for a permanent part-time position. This role would suit a teacher who enjoys developing pupils’ literacy, analytical reading and written expression while contributing to a supportive English department.

The Role

• Teach English Language and Literature across KS3–KS4.

• Plan lessons that develop comprehension, creative writing and analytical responses.

• Prepare GCSE pupils for assessments and examinations.

• Mark work consistently and provide constructive feedback.

• Contribute to shared planning and departmental moderation.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has secure subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

• Can adapt teaching to meet pupils’ different learning needs.

• Uses assessment to inform planning and improve progress.

• Is interested in a permanent 0.8 FTE teaching commitment.
