About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Food Technology lessons that combine practical activities with essential theoretical knowledge. You will encourage creativity, promote safe working practices and help students develop confidence in food preparation, nutrition and food science.

Responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons.

• Teaching food preparation, cooking techniques, nutrition and food safety.

• Organising practical lessons and ensuring equipment is used safely.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Differentiating lessons to support a range of abilities and learning needs.

• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement.

• Contributing to curriculum planning and departmental development.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition.

• Confidence delivering practical lessons and managing classroom resources.

• Effective classroom management and communication skills.

• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student achievement.
