Role: Teacher of Religious Education – KS3–KS4
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire
Contract: Part-Time, Permanent – 0.6 FTE
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: Pro-rata MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

A community secondary school in Ely is looking to appoint a thoughtful and engaging RE Teacher for three days per week. The successful candidate will help pupils explore religious beliefs, ethical questions and different worldviews in a respectful classroom environment.

The Role

• Teach RE across KS3–KS4.

• Plan lessons that develop religious literacy, discussion and evaluative writing.

• Help pupils understand a range of religious and non-religious perspectives.

• Prepare GCSE classes for assessments and examinations where required.

• Track pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has secure knowledge of RE and relevant examination specifications.

• Can facilitate balanced, sensitive and inclusive classroom discussions.

• Uses questioning and assessment to deepen understanding.

• Can commit to a part-time timetable from January 2027.
