A welcoming secondary academy in Rayleigh is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its successful English department from January 2027. This opportunity would suit a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, develop students’ analytical writing skills and help pupils achieve strong outcomes at GCSE and A-Level.

The Role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5.

  • Plan and deliver lessons that develop reading comprehension, critical analysis and written communication.

  • Prepare GCSE and A-Level students for examinations through structured assessment and feedback.

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental resources.

  • Support pupils with different abilities through differentiated teaching.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

  • Can create engaging lessons that encourage independent thinking.

  • Uses assessment effectively to identify learning gaps.

  • Is committed to high expectations and student progress.
