A supportive school in Bridgwater is looking for a meticulous Data Protection Administrator to help maintain accurate records and support compliance with data protection requirements. The role would suit an experienced administrator who is comfortable handling confidential information and understands the importance of secure information management in an educational setting.

About the Role

You will support the school's data protection processes, working with administrative teams and senior staff to ensure information is handled appropriately.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining data protection records, policies and supporting documentation.

• Assisting with responses to subject access requests and information enquiries.

• Keeping records of data incidents and escalating concerns appropriately.

• Supporting staff training records and compliance monitoring.

• Reviewing document storage, retention and disposal processes.

• Helping ensure personal information is shared and stored securely.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in administration, compliance or information governance.

• Knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

• Experience handling confidential personal information.

• Strong written communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.

• School or public-sector experience is advantageous.

An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
