The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of Year 1 pupils.

• Support children's transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1.

• Develop pupils' early reading, writing, phonics and mathematical skills.

• Create a positive, inclusive classroom where children feel confident and motivated to learn.

• Monitor progress through regular assessment and adapt teaching to support individual needs.

• Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents to support pupil development.

• Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and classroom organisation.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching in KS1, ideally within a Year 1 classroom.

• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, phonics and early literacy development.

• Effective classroom management and the ability to create a nurturing learning environment.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• A positive, adaptable approach and a genuine passion for helping young learners succeed.
