Role: Reception Class Teacher

Contract: Full-time, fixed-term for one academic year

Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

A primary school in Stowmarket is seeking a Reception Teacher for the next academic year. The school wants someone who can establish a welcoming classroom, support early development and create a strong foundation for children’s future learning.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver learning in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

  • Provide a balance of play-based, child-initiated and adult-led activities.

  • Support early phonics, communication, number recognition and physical development.

  • Observe children and record progress towards developmental goals.

  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers.

  • Work with the early years team to support transition and school readiness.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has a sound understanding of early years development and the EYFS framework.

  • Can create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

  • Communicates effectively with families and colleagues.
