A village primary school near Dereham is seeking a Year 1 Teacher for the next academic year. The school wants a teacher who can build on pupils’ Reception experiences while developing the structure and independence needed for Key Stage 1.
The Role
Deliver the Year 1 curriculum through engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
Develop early reading, phonics, handwriting and number skills.
Use practical activities to support understanding across the curriculum.
Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to individual needs.
Establish clear routines that support positive behaviour and independence.
Work closely with support staff and families.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Understands the transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1.
Can deliver structured phonics and early mathematics teaching.
Is patient, organised and committed to inclusive learning.
