Role: Teacher of Drama – KS3–KS4
Location: Beccles, Suffolk
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

A secondary school in Beccles is looking for a Drama Teacher to strengthen its performing arts provision. The successful applicant will help pupils develop performance techniques, confidence, collaboration and the ability to evaluate theatrical work.

The Role

  • Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver practical sessions in improvisation, devising and scripted performance.

  • Teach theatrical terminology and performance analysis.

  • Prepare GCSE pupils for practical and written assessments.

  • Support school productions and extracurricular activities where required.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has a strong background in Drama and performance.

  • Can manage practical lessons safely and effectively.

  • Encourages creativity while maintaining clear expectations.

The Environment

The school values creative expression, teamwork and opportunities for pupils to develop their performance skills.
