Contract: Full-time, maternity cover

Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

An established secondary academy is seeking a Geography Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave. The department is looking for a teacher who can connect geographical theory with current environmental, social and economic issues.

The Role

  • Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4, with sixth-form classes where appropriate.

  • Develop pupils’ understanding of climate, urbanisation, development and global interdependence.

  • Teach map interpretation, fieldwork methods and data analysis.

  • Prepare examination groups through structured practice and feedback.

  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and attainment.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has secure Geography subject knowledge.

  • Can make lessons relevant through contemporary case studies.

  • Is organised, adaptable and confident managing classes.
