A secondary school with a growing sixth form is seeking an English Teacher to support pupils across Key Stages 3–5. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature, encouraging critical thinking, confident communication and strong examination performance.

The Role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across secondary year groups.

  • Prepare GCSE and, where appropriate, A-Level students for examinations.

  • Develop analytical writing, close reading and essay-planning skills.

  • Use assessment data to identify pupils who would benefit from additional support.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and sixth-form academic development.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong English subject knowledge and effective classroom management.

  • Can adapt teaching to pupils of different ages and abilities.

  • Demonstrates clear assessment and feedback practices.
