An independent day school in Hitchin is seeking a Computer Science Teacher to teach pupils across secondary year groups, with opportunities to contribute to advanced study where appropriate. The school is looking for a teacher who can combine strong technical knowledge with practical, engaging lessons.

The Role

  • Teach Computer Science across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching depending on experience.

  • Deliver lessons on algorithms, programming, computer systems and networks.

  • Develop pupils’ computational thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Support examination preparation through practical tasks and targeted feedback.

  • Contribute to enrichment activities such as coding clubs or computing projects.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has confident programming knowledge and a sound understanding of the curriculum.

  • Can make technical concepts accessible to pupils with varied levels of experience.

  • Demonstrates effective planning, assessment and classroom management.
