Role Overview

The School Caretaker will be responsible for helping maintain the school's buildings, grounds and facilities to a safe and presentable standard. Daily duties will include inspecting the premises, identifying maintenance issues, undertaking minor repairs and reporting faults that require specialist attention.

You will also assist with securing the site, preparing rooms for school activities, maintaining outdoor areas and supporting contractors when necessary. The ideal candidate will be organised, reliable and capable of managing tasks independently while following health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections of school buildings and grounds.

• Complete minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.

• Assist with opening and securing the premises.

• Check doors, windows, locks and access points.

• Identify and report damage, faults and potential hazards.

• Maintain safe and tidy communal areas.
