About the Role

As School Nurse, you will provide day-to-day healthcare support, respond to medical needs and work collaboratively with school staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment. You will help manage pupils' individual healthcare requirements while promoting healthy habits and wellbeing across the school community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing first aid and responding appropriately to illness and injuries.

• Supporting pupils with medical conditions in line with individual healthcare plans.

• Administering medication in accordance with relevant guidance and school procedures.

• Maintaining accurate, up-to-date and confidential medical records.

• Communicating with parents, carers and healthcare professionals when necessary.

• Promoting health awareness and supporting pupil wellbeing initiatives.

• Following safeguarding, infection control and health and safety procedures.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a caring and organised professional with the clinical knowledge and confidence to support children and young people.

Applicants should have:

• Relevant nursing qualifications and current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

• Previous nursing experience; paediatric or school nursing experience would be advantageous.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in medical situations.

• Excellent record-keeping and organisational skills.

• A clear commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and pupil welfare.
