Role Overview

A welcoming community secondary school in Coventry is seeking an enthusiastic, analytical, and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their strong Mathematics department ASAP. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A Level Mathematics or Further Mathematics) depending on your experience and specialism. You will foster problem-solving skills, numerical confidence, and a passion for mathematics across all pupil ability levels. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate structured Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in alignment with the National Curriculum and GCSE exam board specifications.

  • Utilize diagnostic assessments and progress data to identify learning gaps and implement effective intervention and revision strategies.

  • Differentiate teaching methods to support pupils with SEND or EAL needs while challenging high-attaining pupils targeting top GCSE grades.

  • Prepare pupils thoroughly for GCSE and A Level examinations through targeted exam practice, problem-solving workshops, and constructive feedback.

  • Collaborate with department colleagues to refine schemes of work, share innovative teaching strategies, and participate in extra-curricular math challenges.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline.

  • Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.

  • Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Mathematics, with thorough knowledge of current GCSE specifications.

  • Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.
