About the Role

You will deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach up to Key Stage 5 where appropriate. You will combine theoretical knowledge with practical activities, encouraging students to develop their confidence, creativity and understanding of food and nutrition.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that cover food preparation, nutrition and food science.

• Supervising practical cooking activities and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Differentiating lessons to support students with varying abilities and learning needs.

• Maintaining positive behaviour and promoting safe, responsible use of equipment.

• Preparing students for coursework and examinations where applicable.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Food Technology and a passion for practical, hands-on learning.

Applicants should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition in a secondary school.

• Strong classroom management and lesson-planning skills.

• Knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen safety and nutrition.

• The ability to engage students and support different learning needs.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
