A community secondary school in Haverhill is seeking an English Teacher to join its department at short notice. This opportunity would suit a teacher who can build positive relationships with pupils, deliver structured lessons and support progress in English Language and Literature.
The Role
Teach English across KS3 and KS4.
Plan lessons that develop reading comprehension, vocabulary and written expression.
Teach pupils to analyse texts and construct clear written arguments.
Deliver examination practice and provide useful feedback.
Adapt learning to support pupils with differing levels of attainment.
Participate in departmental planning and pupil progress reviews.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has strong English subject knowledge.
Can establish positive routines and maintain high expectations.
Uses assessment effectively to plan next steps.
