A secondary school in Stevenage is seeking a Computer Science Teacher to cover a period of staff absence. The school wants a teacher who can build pupils' confidence in programming and computational thinking while maintaining a structured and engaging learning environment.

The Role

  • Teach Computer Science across KS3 and KS4.

  • Deliver lessons on algorithms, programming, networks and computer systems.

  • Plan practical coding activities that develop independent problem-solving.

  • Support GCSE pupils with examination preparation and programming tasks.

  • Monitor progress and adapt lessons to address misconceptions.

  • Maintain effective routines during practical and theory-based lessons.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong knowledge of Computer Science and programming.

  • Can explain technical concepts clearly to different ability levels.

  • Is confident using digital resources and classroom technology.

The Environment

The school promotes digital literacy and practical learning. The successful teacher will receive appropriate departmental guidance and shared resources to support a smooth transition into the role.
