A mixed secondary school in Colchester is seeking a motivated Science Teacher to join its team from January. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Science education and wants to help students develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills required to succeed at secondary level.

The successful candidate will deliver Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils as they progress from introductory scientific concepts to the more demanding content required for GCSE qualifications. Lessons should be carefully structured, accessible and engaging, with appropriate opportunities for practical investigation, independent learning and examination practice.

The school is looking for someone who can establish positive relationships with pupils and maintain high standards of behaviour. You will be expected to adapt resources for students with differing levels of prior attainment, identify misconceptions through regular questioning and assessment, and provide meaningful feedback that helps pupils improve.
