About the Role

You will deliver engaging Biology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach up to Key Stage 5 where appropriate. You will help students develop a secure understanding of biological principles, strengthen their scientific enquiry skills and prepare confidently for assessments and examinations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that make complex biological concepts accessible.

• Using practical activities and real-world examples to encourage scientific curiosity.

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Differentiating lessons to support students with varying abilities and learning needs.

• Maintaining high standards of classroom behaviour and participation.

• Collaborating with Science colleagues to share resources and improve teaching outcomes.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management skills and a commitment to helping every student succeed.

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching Biology or Science in a secondary school.

• The ability to plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• A proactive approach to supporting student progress and engagement.

• A commitment to professional development and collaborative working.
