Role Overview

A dynamic secondary school in Dudley is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Biology Teacher to join their Science department ASAP. In this role, you will teach Biology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE Biology and Combined Science), and Key Stage 5 (A Level Biology). You will deliver engaging, practical-led lessons that deepen pupils' understanding of living organisms, ecological systems, and human biology, inspiring the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Biology lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5 in line with National Curriculum standards and AQA/OCR/Edexcel specifications.

• Lead interactive practical experiments, field studies, and microscope labs while strictly enforcing CLEAPSS safety standards and COSHH regulations.

• Utilize diagnostic tracking and regular assessments to monitor pupil progress, delivering effective revision sessions and A Level exam preparation.

• Differentiate teaching strategies to ensure lessons are accessible for pupils with SEND/EAL while stretching high-attaining pupils.

• Collaborate with Science department colleagues and laboratory technicians to continuously enhance teaching resources and schemes of work.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.

• Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Science/Biology, including A Level delivery or preparation.

• Excellent classroom management, practical laboratory supervision, and communication skills.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
