An independent school in Barnet is looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join its department from January 2027. This is an opportunity to help pupils develop their computational thinking, problem-solving skills and understanding of the technology shaping everyday life.

What You'll Be Doing

• Teaching Computer Science across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 teaching.

• Delivering lessons covering programming, algorithms and computational thinking.

• Helping pupils develop practical coding and problem-solving skills.

• Preparing pupils for assessments and public examinations.

• Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Supporting enrichment activities and wider digital learning opportunities.

• Contributing to curriculum planning and departmental development.

About You

You'll have strong Computer Science subject knowledge and be confident teaching programming and theoretical concepts. A relevant degree and teaching qualification are expected, alongside experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level.

Knowledge of programming languages and experience preparing pupils for GCSE or A-Level Computer Science would be advantageous. Suitable ECTs may be considered.
