A secondary school with a sixth form in Harpenden is seeking an MFL Teacher to join its department at short notice. The school welcomes applications from teachers with French or Spanish specialism who can deliver well-structured language lessons and support pupils through GCSE and, where appropriate, post-16 study.

The Role

• Teach French and/or Spanish across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching depending on experience.

• Develop pupils' listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammatical accuracy.

• Use structured conversation practice to improve confidence and fluency.

• Prepare examination classes for written assessments and speaking examinations.

• Track progress and provide clear feedback to support improvement.

• Contribute to shared planning, assessment and language enrichment.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS and has strong subject knowledge in a relevant modern foreign language.

• Can deliver engaging lessons that balance communication with grammatical accuracy.

• Is confident supporting pupils with different levels of attainment.

• Demonstrates effective classroom management and collaborative working.
