A secondary school with a sixth form in Braintree is seeking an English Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across a range of age groups. The school is looking for someone who can inspire pupils through literature and language while developing their analytical writing and independent thinking.

The Role

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

  • Take on KS5 classes where appropriate to experience and timetable requirements.

  • Develop pupils' critical reading, essay writing and discussion skills.

  • Prepare examination classes through targeted practice and constructive feedback.

  • Use assessment information to identify areas for improvement.

  • Contribute to enrichment activities such as reading, writing or literary discussion groups.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS and has secure English subject knowledge.

  • Can challenge high-attaining pupils while supporting those who need additional help.

  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and organisation.

  • Is committed to improving pupil outcomes and promoting reading.
