A secondary school in Saffron Walden is seeking an RE Teacher to join its humanities team in January. The school is looking for someone who can encourage thoughtful discussion, promote respect for different viewpoints and help pupils develop a sound understanding of religious, philosophical and ethical questions.

The Role

  • Teach RE across KS3 and KS4.

  • Explore religious beliefs, practices, worldviews and ethical issues.

  • Develop pupils' evaluation, reasoning and extended-writing skills.

  • Prepare GCSE classes for assessments and examinations where applicable.

  • Plan inclusive lessons that encourage respectful discussion.

  • Work with colleagues to develop engaging curriculum resources.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS and has a strong understanding of RE subject content.

  • Can lead discussions on sensitive topics with fairness and confidence.

  • Encourages critical thinking and evidence-based responses.

  • Demonstrates strong communication and classroom management.
