A secondary academy in Dunstable is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join its department as soon as possible. The successful candidate will help pupils develop strong literacy skills, engage with a broad range of literature and build the confidence needed to succeed at GCSE.

The Role

• Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.

• Plan lessons covering poetry, prose, drama, creative writing and analytical reading.

• Develop pupils' extended writing, vocabulary and comprehension.

• Prepare GCSE classes through structured examination practice and targeted feedback.

• Monitor attainment and adapt lessons to meet different learning needs.

• Contribute to curriculum planning and wider departmental activities.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Has strong English subject knowledge and effective classroom management.

• Can motivate pupils and maintain high expectations.

• Uses assessment to identify gaps and improve progress.
