About the Position
Our client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join its secondary school in Cambridge. This opportunity would suit a creative educator who believes in the value of music as part of a broad education and enjoys helping pupils discover their musical interests, develop their skills and express themselves through performance and composition.
The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across the relevant key stages, ensuring that pupils develop a balanced understanding of practical musicianship, listening, composition and musical theory. You will introduce students to a range of musical styles and traditions, encouraging them to explore different genres while developing their ability to analyse, perform and create music.
The school is looking for a teacher who can make Music accessible to pupils with different levels of experience, from those discovering an instrument or musical concept for the first time to those who already demonstrate considerable ability. Lessons should encourage participation, collaboration and independent creativity while maintaining clear learning objectives and high expectations.
In addition to classroom teaching, the successful candidate may contribute to extracurricular opportunities such as ensembles, choirs, instrumental groups, concerts and school productions, depending on the school's existing provision. These activities offer valuable opportunities for pupils to develop confidence, teamwork and a sense of achievement.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Music Teachers, ECTs and suitably qualified overseas teachers with a recognised formal teaching qualification.
