An inclusive secondary academy in Bishop's Stortford is seeking an RE Teacher who can make religious, philosophical and ethical questions accessible to pupils. The successful candidate will encourage thoughtful discussion and help pupils develop balanced, evidence-based responses.
The Role
Teach RE across KS3 and KS4.
Plan lessons exploring a range of religious and non-religious perspectives.
Develop pupils' evaluation, reasoning and extended-writing skills.
Prepare GCSE pupils for assessments where relevant.
Maintain an inclusive classroom where respectful disagreement is encouraged.
The Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has a strong understanding of RE subject content.
Can facilitate discussion of challenging topics with sensitivity.
Uses clear routines and effective assessment to support progress.
The Environment
The academy promotes inclusion, positive relationships and high expectations. The successful teacher will work with a supportive department and have opportunities to develop professionally as the role progresses.
