A growing secondary academy in Bedford is seeking a Computer Science Teacher to join its department in January. The role would suit someone who enjoys teaching practical programming alongside the theoretical knowledge pupils need for formal assessments.

The Role

  • Teach Computer Science across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 classes depending on experience.

  • Cover programming, algorithms, networks, data representation and computer systems.

  • Plan practical tasks that encourage logical thinking and independent problem-solving.

  • Support examination preparation and provide clear feedback on pupils' work.

  • Help maintain an engaging and appropriately challenging curriculum.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS and has strong Computer Science subject knowledge.

  • Can teach programming concepts clearly and systematically.

  • Is confident using technology to support learning.

  • Works collaboratively and responds constructively to assessment information.

The Environment

The school is developing its curriculum and encourages staff to contribute ideas for practical learning and enrichment. Departmental resources and collaborative planning support are available.
