A secondary academy with a sixth form in Harlow is seeking a History Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons and develop pupils' ability to analyse evidence, evaluate interpretations and construct persuasive historical arguments.

The Role

  • Teach History across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 classes depending on experience.

  • Deliver a balanced curriculum covering historical events, individuals and societies.

  • Develop source analysis, extended writing and independent study skills.

  • Support GCSE and, where relevant, A-Level examination preparation.

  • Contribute to departmental planning, assessment and moderation.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and an enthusiasm for historical enquiry.

  • Can support pupils with different academic starting points.

  • Maintains clear expectations and a positive classroom culture.
