Wayman Education is seeking a practical and creative Design and Technology Teacher who can inspire students to design, develop and evaluate their own ideas. This opportunity would suit a teacher who enjoys project-based learning and helping students build practical skills alongside their technical knowledge.
The School
The school promotes problem-solving, creativity and independent learning. Students are encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge to practical projects while developing the technical skills and confidence needed for further study.
The Role
Teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, with GCSE experience desirable.
Plan practical projects that develop designing, making and evaluation skills.
Teach safe and effective use of tools, materials and equipment.
Assess student work and provide constructive feedback throughout projects.
Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of practical resources.
The Ideal Candidate
Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has a relevant Design and Technology specialism.
Can deliver practical lessons safely and effectively.
Encourages creativity, resilience and independent problem-solving.
Maintains high expectations for student progress and workshop safety.
Salary
Competitive MPS/UPS salary, dependent on experience and the school's pay structure.
