About the Role
We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented and experienced Subject Access Requests (SAR) Officer to join an all-girls secondary school in Haringey on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will support the school in addressing a backlog of Subject Access Requests (SARs), ensuring relevant information is identified, reviewed, gathered and collated accurately and efficiently.
This role would suit someone with significant administrative experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally within a busy school or office environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review and process Subject Access Requests in line with school procedures and data protection requirements.
Search for, retrieve and collate relevant information from emails, school portals and management information systems, including SIMS.
Review records and documentation to identify information relevant to each request.
Prepare clear, accurate summary reports and organise information for further review.
Maintain accurate records of requests, progress and actions taken.
Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Work efficiently to help reduce the existing backlog and meet agreed deadlines.
Liaise with relevant staff to obtain information where required.
Essential Skills and Experience
Significant administrative experience in a busy office or organisational setting.
Strong IT skills, including confidence using email, databases, digital records and online portals.
Experience gathering, reviewing and organising information from multiple sources.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear summary reports.
An understanding of confidentiality and the importance of handling sensitive information appropriately.
The ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads and meet deadlines.
Desirable: Previous experience working in a school or educational setting, familiarity with SIMS or similar school management information systems, and knowledge of Subject Access Requests or data protection procedures.
Working Hours
The role is based on 36 hours per week, with an 8:00am start, working standard support staff hours.
