About the Role
As the School HR Officer, you will serve as a central pillar of the school's operational framework, ensuring that staff wellbeing, recruitment, and personnel management run seamlessly. You will work closely with senior leadership to champion best practices, support staff development, and cultivate a positive, professional workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, placing advertisements, coordinating interviews, and overseeing onboarding.
Ensure rigorous compliance with safer recruitment guidelines, including managing Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR).
Provide reliable, day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and staff regarding absence management, performance, contracts, and employment policies.
Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records and update HR databases in line with data protection regulations.
Implement fresh, efficient administrative systems to streamline HR processes and support overall staff wellbeing and retention initiatives.
Requirements
Proven experience working in a human resources role, ideally within an education, school, or public sector setting.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, safer recruitment practices, and HR best practices.
Exceptional organisational skills with a meticulous eye for detail and data accuracy.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and mediation skills, with a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a strong commitment to progressing within educational human resources.
