The Role

• Teach English language and literature to mixed-ability KS3 and KS4 classes.

• Plan accessible lessons with appropriate challenge and support.

• Develop pupils' reading comprehension, written expression and examination technique.

• Maintain accurate assessment records and identify pupils requiring intervention.

• Work with pastoral staff and the English department to support pupil engagement.

The Candidate

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Has effective classroom management and communication skills.

• Can adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs.

• Is reliable, flexible and committed to pupil progress.
