An ambitious secondary school in Chelmsford is seeking an English Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across a broad age range. The school is keen to appoint someone with strong subject knowledge who can inspire pupils to read critically, write confidently and explore literature in depth.

The Role

  • Teach English language and literature across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 teaching depending on experience.

  • Develop pupils' analytical writing and understanding of literary techniques.

  • Prepare GCSE students for examinations through targeted revision and assessment.

  • Use pupil progress information to inform lesson planning and intervention.

  • Contribute to enrichment activities such as reading clubs, creative writing or debating.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS and has a secure understanding of English language and literature.

  • Can challenge high-attaining pupils while supporting those who need additional help.
