We are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join an established secondary academy in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can engage pupils in English language and literature, build strong classroom relationships and help students develop the skills needed for GCSE success.

The Role

  • Teach English language and literature across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Plan engaging lessons covering creative writing, analytical reading, poetry and set texts.

  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations through structured practice and targeted feedback.

  • Monitor attainment and adapt teaching to support pupils of different abilities.

  • Contribute to department planning, assessment and the wider school community.

The Candidate

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.

  • Can motivate pupils and establish high expectations for learning.

  • Is confident using assessment to identify gaps and improve progress.
