An excellent school in Dudley is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Hospitality and Catering Teacher to join its Design & Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who can deliver engaging practical lessons, develop students' culinary skills and prepare them for future opportunities within the hospitality and catering industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Hospitality and Catering across the secondary age range, combining practical cooking sessions with essential theoretical knowledge. You will create engaging learning experiences that help students develop confidence, creativity and an understanding of food preparation, nutrition and the wider hospitality sector.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Hospitality and Catering lessons up to KS5.

• Leading practical cooking sessions and demonstrating appropriate techniques.

• Teaching food preparation, nutrition, hygiene and health and safety.

• Supporting students with coursework, assessments and examinations.

• Monitoring progress and adapting lessons to meet different learning needs.

• Maintaining safe, clean and organised kitchen facilities.

• Encouraging creativity, independence and professional working practices.

• Collaborating with colleagues to support departmental development.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Experience teaching Hospitality and Catering, Food Technology or a related subject.

• Strong practical knowledge of food preparation and catering techniques.

• Understanding of food hygiene, nutrition and kitchen safety.

• Effective classroom management and communication skills.

• Ability to engage students through practical and theoretical learning.

• A commitment to supporting students of all abilities.
