Role Overview

A dedicated community secondary school in Walsall is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and engaging Maths Teacher to join their Mathematics department ASAP. In this role, you will plan and deliver high-quality, interactive maths lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Mathematics), with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 (A Level Mathematics) depending on experience. You will focus on building core numerical fluency, problem-solving abilities, and exam confidence across all ability groups. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with national curriculum standards and GCSE exam board specifications.

  • Use diagnostic tracking and formative assessments to monitor pupil attainment and deliver targeted intervention strategies.

  • Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that encourages logical thinking, resilience, and mathematical reasoning.

  • Collaborate with department colleagues to develop innovative teaching resources, refine schemes of work, and participate in moderation.

  • Support extra-curricular maths initiatives, including revision workshops and national mathematical challenges.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS.

  • Proven teaching experience or strong placement record in secondary Mathematics, with solid knowledge of current GCSE specifications.

  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Legal right to work in the UK.
